Introduction

Stichting Online Notaris, a foundation (stichting) organized and existing under the laws of the Netherlands, having its statutory seat in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with address Herikerbergweg 284, 1101CT Amsterdam, registered at the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce under number 62698664 (hereafter "Stichting Online Notaris"), operates Verifio, an identity verification application for notarial processes (hereafter "Verifio"). Stichting Online Notaris attaches great importance to the responsible handling of personal data of users of Verifio (hereafter "Users").
Stichting Online Notaris processes personal data of Users carefully and with due observance of the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In this Privacy Statement, Stichting Online Notaris informs Users about the way personal data is processed through Verifio and how Users can control this process.

Verifio is an identity verification application used exclusively to verify the identity of individuals in the context of notarial services. Users access Verifio via a unique link received by email, complete the required verification steps, and the process is concluded. Verifio does not store personal data beyond what is strictly necessary for the duration of the verification session.
Verifio does not collect, store, or retain email addresses or other personal data after the verification process has been completed. No personal data is retained in any database or system operated by Stichting Online Notaris following completion of the verification.
Stichting Online Notaris is at all times responsible for the management of any personal data temporarily processed through Verifio and will make every effort to protect such data. In the event of a data breach, Stichting Online Notaris will immediately take steps to prevent further exposure and will comply with applicable notification obligations under the GDPR.
Any questions regarding personal data processed through Verifio can be directed to info@verifio.io. These questions will be answered within 2 working days at the latest.

Verifio processes personal data solely for the purpose of verifying the identity of a User as part of a notarial process initiated by a notary. Users access Verifio through a unique link received by email, complete the verification steps, and the session ends. No data is retained after completion of the verification.

The processing of personal data within Verifio is carried out on the basis of a legal obligation and/or the performance of a task in the public interest, in the context of notarial identity verification requirements.

Stichting Online Notaris does not sell personal data of Users to third parties.
Personal data may be shared with the notary initiating the verification process, solely to the extent necessary to complete the notarial services for which the verification was requested. This sharing is inherent to the purpose of the verification.

Stichting Online Notaris makes use of appropriate technical and organizational security measures to ensure that unauthorized persons do not gain access to personal data processed through Verifio, and to prevent loss, unlawful use, or modification of such data.

As a User, you have the right to request access to any personal data processed about you. You may also request correction or deletion of your personal data by sending an email to info@verifio.io.
Given that Verifio does not retain personal data after the completion of the verification session, most requests for deletion or access will not result in any data being found. Where data is found, it will be handled in accordance with applicable GDPR requirements.

Verifio may make use of functional cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the verification process. No tracking or analytical cookies are used.
